Hotels typically utilize two main systems for their locks: magnetic stripe and RFID systems.

Identifying whether your card is a magnetic stripe card or an RFID card is straightforward:
1. Look for an arrow at the front of the card;
2. Check for a black (or sometimes brown, silver, or gold) magnetic stripe at the back. If both are present, you have a
magnetic stripe card.

If the card surface appears blank and you don't see the arrow on the front,
then it is likely an RFID card.

To confirm, place the card in front of a strong light source. If you see a copper antenna inside, as shown in the image below, it's an RFID card.

In essence, a magnetic stripe card is a plastic card featuring a magnetic stripe that stores data by altering the magnetism of tiny iron-based particles on a magnetic material band.These hotel key cards grant access by swiping the magnetic stripe over a sensor that reads its contents, enabling entry if the data matches.

Also known as swipe cards or magstripe cards, magnetic stripe cards are read by swiping them past a magnetic reading head. They are widely used as ID cards, membership cards, hotel key cards, credit cards, and transportation tickets.

 

There are two standard sizes for magnetic stripe cards: CR80 and CR50
CR80: 86*54*0.76 mm (3-3/8*2-1/8", thickness 30 mil)
CR50: 88.6*43.8*0.76 mm (3-1/2*1-23/32", thickness 30 mil)

Types of Magnetic Stripe:
1. Low-coercivity (Loco) at 300 Oe or 600 Oe;
