Hotels typically use two main systems for their locks: magnetic stripe and RFID technology.

There is an easy method to determine if your card is a magnetic stripe or RFID card:
1. Look for an arrow on the front of the card;
2. Check for a black, brown, silver, or gold magnetic stripe on the back. If both are present, then it's a
magnetic stripe card.

If the card surface is plain, even if there is an arrow on the front, you are likely using an RFID card.
To be certain, hold the card up to a bright light. You should see a copper antenna inside, as shown in the picture below.

To double confirm, put the card in front of a bright light, you would see the copper antenna inside like shown in the picture below.
